This Toowong Hospital caters to the needs of thousands of patients and visitors every single day. As hospitals run a 24-hour operation, there is no room for downtime particularly when it comes to electrical circuitry and efficiency. Staff members at this Toowong hospital complained for several days of a "burning smell" that secreted from the control room at the northern end of the Hospital's West wing. It had been several weeks since the last electrical inspection and Twintech Electrical were called upon to check into the situation.
Josh and his team arrived promptly onsite and upon immediately entering the control room were overcome by the odour that plagued the residents and staff members of this Toowong Hospital. Electrical cabinets, wiring and equipment littered the entire commercial space, creating somewhat of a challenge for Josh and his Twintech Electrical team in locating and isolating the problematic component. With the use of Twintech Electrical's trusty thermal imaging camera, a quick scan of the electrical cabinet revealed a faulty component which resulted in extensive heat being emitted and an odour which was akin to burnt metal and plastics.
This component was responsible for the lighting which lined the hallways leading from emergency room to the general ward - a critical piece in ensuring the staff and patients of the facility moved around in safety and comfort. It was incredibly fortunate that Twintech Electrical was summoned onsite and thanks to some prompt intervention, ensured hospital operations never ceased (not to mention potential consequential damage arising as a result of the electrical fault).
A timely reminder for businesses all over Brisbane's northside for the need have their electrical cabinets, breaker panels, fuses and other electrical components regularly checked and scanned using a thermal imaging camera.
